About 20 826 voters are eligible to cast ballots in Tuesdays primary election the recorder s office announced Friday Democrats outnumber Republicans 11900 to 4000 for 7 per cent of the eligibility list About 33 per cent of the voters are independents or members of other minor parties The office reported 720 absentee ballots had been received by 5 p m Friday County voters may vote absentee through Tuesday The 1972 primary vote figure has skyrocketed from the 1970 figure of 12994 registered voters Election officials completed a trial run with the NAG computer finding the data processing unit correctly handled the four different ballots to be used Tuesday Mrs Betty To Anderson clerk of the Board of Supervisors said the trial ballots were sealed after the test and will be kept through the elections for rechecking Some Coconino County precincts in state Legislative District 3 will vote for different state representatives than the rest of the county which is District 2 About 30 ballots were used in the trial All three county supervisors some staff county GOP and Democratic Party representatives and two Computer Election Services company men attended GES sold the county the data processing type of balloting system in 1909 All Arizona counties except Mohave will use the ballot bunch card system this year For an explanation of how the voter is to use the new system see four photos and outlines above.

One Man Injured As Pickup Flips
Flagstaff man Tol Romero, 21, was admitted to Flagstaff Hospital about 8:30 p.m. Friday with back injuries after a pickup rolled several times at the Leupp Road and old U.S. 66 junction. The driver Lawrence Almarez, 20, suffered minor injuries. A third man remained unharmed.
