Mrs. Roberta Turley Tanner, 73, longtime Winslow resident since 1939, died Thursday at Winslow Memorial Hospital. Services are 10 am Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial is in Joseph City. She was born in Snowflake and active in LDS Church work. Surviving relatives listed.

Ash Fork Crash Kills Three In One-Car Wreck
Three people from a Los Angeles family died in a one car crash on I 40 near Ash Fork at about 3:30 AM. Driver Margaret Rose Freddie 24 her son Leon 6 and friend Jerry Henry 29 died at the scene. Flagstaff Man Dies in Suspected Self-Inflicted Gunshot
A 5-year-old Flagstaff man died Friday from a gunshot wound in what police described as a possible self-inflicted death. John Joseph O'Brien, 701 David Drive, was found by Patrolman Lynn Cosper with a .22 caliber rifle on his lap and ammunition nearby. He was taken to Page Staff Hospital where he died two hours later. Neighbors said he had been upset and in poor health.
