Bridge Suit Settled Over Gila County 160 Acre Parcel

Two local businessmen B B Bomper Jr and George Nackard were declared rightful owners of the 160 acre Bridge parcel including Tonto Natural Bridge after a court ruling by Mobaye County Judge Frank Gordon sitting in Coconino County Superior Court. The decision followed a dispute with North Star Development Corp tied to a quitclaim deed signed by James D. Babbitt. The case began in March with Phoenix investor Clifford Wolfswinkel alleging failed negotiations to buy the Bridge. Gordon ordered North Star to surrender the parcel by mid July or face a writ of restitution. In a separate matter an 18 year old Flagstaff youth received a suspended sentence for shoplifting after pleading hunger as the motive. Lonnie Berg of North Third Street was fined $166 or 30 days in City Jail for an 80 cent theft at SafeWay on South Milton Road.
