At the Arizona LULAC state convention delegates voted to push a voter registration drive for Mexican Americans with a target near 200 000. Three Dead In Two Weekend Traffic Crashes On US 89
The Highway Patrol reported three fatalities from crashes on US 89 north near Page over the weekend. Joseph City residents Lemont C. Pilling 45 and Nicki Pilling died when their car crossed the centerline and collided with Lotario F. Laycock 45 of Riverside California, who was taken to Page Hospital. A second crash killed Leonard L. Walker 26 of Cold Tooth Tracking Post when his car side swiped a truck, ran off the road and burned, with passenger Guy Yarde 14 injured and rushed to Tuba City Hospital.
