A newly formed nonprofit called Forest Creek Civic Group Inc plans to develop the Oak Creek area just west of the Yavapai county line near Highway 88 A. Mrs Rank Lome sustained a serious injury while at work when a large rack she was handling collapsed, likely breaking several bones. Wilson family hosting their Seattle cousins and Salone Romhentary of La Columbia Artists Association attended a dinner during the visit.
Faculty and families organized a surprise birthday event for college president Dr Kacey A Thurn on Wednesday night. The faculty social committee led by Sharpenters plus May Duncan, Sahay Feeney, Rosie Belly, Benny Swart, Kenneth Le Devifield, Fo Osborn, A Hayat Goodman and Jon Bellwood arranged the gathering and Dr Bayborn presented a group gift through Chester Denver, the faculty chairman.
TuLsON ext agronomist Charles Ellwood praised flame cultivation as effective for weed control. He noted two new tools will aid ration growers and that flames reduced weed population by about nine percent in drill-row applications.

Northern Arizona radio operators announce their third annual outing at Montezuma Well this Sunday. Verne Carothers Valle Airport manager and general chairman says the event includes a potluck. About 16 to 12 Flagstaff amateurs and families plan to attend with several from California, Texas, and Colorado indicated.
Elks Ladies chaired by Mrs. Carl Lickingon and Mrs. S A L Morrow launch a three month membership drive to begin immediately during their regular Elkshowe social, with a September kickoff and a dish dinner for the winning side. Mrs. Z Th Weilyer announced the group now has over 116 members. new member Mrs. James Ross was welcomed.

Ditt Higan a district ranger on Coconing National Forest and now assigned to the regional forest service office at Albuquerque, and James Farrell Washington DO, chief of planting and timber stand improvement work, visited Apache and Cocanine forests this week. They traveled to Antpuyiergun for field management and forest improvement work on Thursday.
Prescott report states County Attorney David H. Palmer will not seek another term after holding the post since 1946. He plans to retire from the office, concluding decades of service in Yavapai County.
