Twelve year old Sean Bursley partners with Kim Rice and Chris Shamrell to stage a June carnival at 810 N Humphreys to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy. The event runs June 12 to 17 from 10 am to 5 pm daily with four prize games and invites local adults to donate and participate.

Alma Ison 58 died Tuesday in Flagstaff Community Hospital after living with daughter Mrs. Joseph Schabatha. Born July 27 1913 in Texas she moved from Texas to the Holbrook area in 1986 and lived in Tuba City until February. Surviving are daughters Mrs. Ronald J. Varga and Mrs. Schabatha sons Jerry Ison Herbert Ralph Coy and Robert Levi Jr three brothers and two sisters. Funeral at LDS Woodruff Arizona with burial in Woodruff Flagstaff Mortuary in charge.

The Coconino National Forest schedules a public hearing at 1 p.m. Saturday at Coconino High School to hear comments on the draft environmental statement for the Peaks and Elden Mountains land use proposal. On Monday the Coconino County Supervisors meet at 10 a.m. in the courthouse to discuss a preliminary subdivision plat and use permit request for a golf course and ski run on the Summit Properties 326 acre Hart Prairie parcel on the western slope.

Phoenix man dies after apparent heart attack in Flagstaff
Dennie D. Fox, 44, of Phoenix, collapsed at Denny’s Restaurant on Interstate 17 and died early today at Flagstaff Community Hospital. Patrolman John Brandis and Richard A. Smith said Fox, en route to Lake Powell for a fishing trip, had briefly been treated by a companion who performed chest pressure before Fox collapsed. Fox had a history of heart trouble, according to authorities after speaking with his wife.
