Williams Hospital Board issued a call for bids on a remodeling project with bids to be opened at the next regular meeting on June 14. A proposal to purchase a new phone system was discussed but delayed until remodeling estimates are in.
The notice lists the Arizona Daily Sun publisher Flagstaff Publishing Co. address 417 W Santa Fe Ave Flagstaff Arizona 96001 and P O Box 1649 with phone 774 4345. It states subscription rates 2.50 per month by carrier 30.00 per year by mail in Coconino Navajo and Yavapai counties others 35.00 and directs readers to call circulation 774 4543 before 6:30 p m. It also notes Coconino Sun weekly 95.03 per year by mail and the same publisher address.
A Maine man Wesley Storer flew to Saigon and served in place of his brother Glenn for nearly a month in Vietnam before the switch was discovered. Wesley faced detention but no charges. Glenn returned to the U S and faced possible AWOL charges as he later reported.
Secretary of the Army Stanley Resor demoted Maj. Gen. Samuel Koster for failing to adequately investigate the My Lai massacre. Koster was reduced to brigadier general and his Distinguished Service Medal withdrawn. Brig. Gen. George Young’s DSM was canceled, with a letter of censure in his file. Resor cited Young’s performance as justification. Eleven other officers remain under study as the Army reviews the case and related charges. Young claims to feel like a political scapegoat and is assigned to the Army Materiel Command. Koster, 37, is assigned at Ft. Meade Maryland.
