Forecast calls for mostly sunny today with some afternoon clouds and slight warming ahead. Tonight remains cold with near freezing lows. tomorrow shows a high near 50 with continued clear to partly cloudy conditions in the region.
The Sixth Flag All-School Concert will be held Friday at 7 30 p m in the Wah school auditorium. The program features 163 musicians from fourth through eighth grades including strings and bands. Highlights include Roses selections Palm Mercy Villa Waltz and Switch Tver as well as Singing Sands Overes Nie tury Escort March and High School Cadets. The finale combines 67 musicians for Ride With Me There s Music in the Air and Easy Steps March.
East Flagre society members urge adults to complete polio vaccination series while prioritizing children and noting limited free vaccine. A disaster plan team is named to prepare protective measures. Preschool checkups are set for May 22 at Mt. Elden and Emerson schools for children entering Kindergarten or first grade.
The Brink family mourns after a river drowning near Lidgughter. Bryant Brink and his wife were swept into the Verde as a rescue attempt failed. Sheriff J. Cramer stated the watch on Bryant suggests he leaped to save his wife, while neither could swim. A Brinks brother reported the incident and located the pickup and later bodies. The discovery followed a Wednesday search with deputies and family members involved.
Mt Elden PTA held installation tonight at ML School starting at 7 oclock. Wilé Sanderson was named president with Avs Harold Porter vice president and A J Ed a secretary. Other officers include maty treasurer and Jesse-Wimp as outing president. William Yee from Flagstaff addressed the group on There Was There and Pearl Harbor, with Navy officials providing the film.

Mrs. Gallegos a native of Santa Mateo New Mexico aged 78 died in Flagstaff after five years in Winslow with her daughter Cecilia Gallegos. Funeral services will be conducted at Church of the Nativity in Cam Friday morning. Survivors include Levi G Gallegos Cecilia Gallegos Manuel Gallegos and others with sister Alice Martinez Ontario California. Bearers listed.
