A spring blood drive at Northern Arizona University was cancelled by student organizers after learning the NAU activities center would be used to photograph students and faculty for identification cards. The Phoenix Blood Bank spokesman said no prior notice was given and the bloodmobile would appear in Flagstaff at a later date.

Amelia Cross, 97, who arrived in Holbrook in 1902, died Monday at Holbrook hospital. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Holbrook with burial in Holbrook Cemetery. Born in Spring City Utah, she moved to Arizona in 1890 driving mules to Alpine, lived in St. Johns and Snowflake, later in St. Anthony Idaho before settling in Holbrook. She was a longtime member and former president of the Holbrook LDS Relief Society. Survivors include daughter Mrs. Allie Harvey of Holbrook and three grandchildren.
