60-Day Residency Proposed
PHOENIX AR The House Jiiciary Committee altered its election reform to require a 60 day residency for state elections. Atty Gen Gary Nelson said the change could meet Supreme Court tests but recommended interim study on residency. The panel also advanced a bill to expand prison made products sales to churches and charities.

OIC moves to create an industrial advisory council with community leaders to identify job openings in Flagstaff. The eight week program targets underemployed and unemployed individuals including dropouts, teaching only job essentials for positions such as cooks, motel clerks, automotive mechanics, and office secretaries. Snow surveyors returned from the Inner Basin of the San Francisco Peaks with an average depth of four inches, far below the usual three feet for this time of year. A light storm left less than a tenth of an inch of rain and rain gauges showed well below normal precipitation. Doyle Saddle at 11,000 feet had five inches.

A 20 year old NAU freshman files suit through her mother alleging illegal room searches in the South Academic Center dorm. She seeks damages for invasion of privacy libel and slander claiming searches by Larry Lydick Ginny McMillan Dean Spanier and others violated her rights.
