Slick Roads Blamed in 8 Accidents

Wet roads and freezing temperatures caused eight accidents just west of Flagstaff on Interstate 40. Arizona Highway Patrol reported three officers handling crashes and motorist assists from 8:30 p.m. to 2:15 a.m. at an eight mile section near the Navajo Army Depot. Three crashes caused minor injuries with one hospitalization for a broken arm. Drivers cited for speed not reasonable and prudent as cars slid on the roadway.

Suspect Arrested In Stabbing Incident Near Flagstaff Motel

A 22-year-old Flagstaff man, Terry C. Joynt, faces assault with a deadly weapon charges after a stabbing at Byatt Chalet Motel. Victim Tad Harrier of Granada Hills, Calif., was treated for a stab wound. Two witnesses, Debbie Hudson and Richard Norton, were jailed on illegal consumption charges.

Child Rushed to Hospital After Breathing Stop

Seven year old Martin Pulido of 9769 North Thomas Road was admitted to Community Hospital in satisfactory condition after stopping breathing at home shortly after noon. Officials cited a high fever and did not disclose the exact cause. Police and fire reports note emergency oxygen was given before transport.
