NAU Night concert to entertain Phoenix alums
Northern Arizona University will present NAU Night featuring the Symphony Orchestra Shr ing of Ages Choir and Concert Band in a Phoenix Maryvale High School auditorium at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Couple in Theft Case Ordered for Psychological Exam
A young couple, Nick Cox 26 of Taft California and Gale Coulbourne 19 of San Francisco, appeared in Superior Court where a judge ordered a psychological examination. The pair were jailed on four charges after binding and gagging a North Dakota couple in a motel and escaping with the car and money. A date for the exam is expected next week.

Four Charged With Driving While Intoxicated In Flagstaff
Four people were charged by Flagstaff police with driving while intoxicated. Foster Lyle Knowles, 57, was arrested after being seen driving the wrong way on Beaver Street. Clarence Tewa, 27, was cited after colliding in the Rancho parking lot and failed field tests. Ray Gilmore, 23, was stopped for running a stop sign. Don Kubik, 49, was arrested after leaving Trails Lounge and refused a breathalyzer. Also, Orlando Barera, 64, longtime El Paso Symphony Orchestra director, died of cancer.

Tuesday city council revealed plans for a two story jail to be built north of the present facility at an estimated cost of 500000. Ground floor houses police offices court room city court chambers for 60 and a drunk tank while the upper floor holds prison facilities. A nonprofit will sell bonds to finance the project and lease purchase the building to the city. Members named Glen Daly Fred Lind Zada Purdy Fred Robinson and Karl McNally. Council opposed due to long term maintenance costs and discussed alternatives including using city land near the Little Colorado for a lake fed by Clear Creek water. Public hearing on city water supply modernization set for April 13 with a five year plan costing 900000. Two new library board members Earl Nichols and Paul Vasquez were appointed and Sturdy Steel Co was awarded a 1216.80 bid for six sections of bleachers for the softball park.

Arizona Public Service Company filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission proposed price adjustments to become effective April 22 due to higher boiler fuel costs and natural gas for resale.
