Water Supt. James Rawlinson reported near 4.9 billion gallons in storage across Lake Mary and two reservoirs. He noted depths of 23 to 36 feet in reservoirs, a total storage of about 80 million gallons, and evaporation losses around 4.4 million gallons as winter continues.
A new storm is forecast to drop 2 to 4 inches of snow in the Northland today. Forecasters say the front will move in this afternoon with increasing snow activity tonight, following a warm day when temperatures reached into the 50s. The cooling trend continues through Tuesday. Flagstaff set a winter snow record last week, though much of the cover has melted with the warming temperatures. Lake Mary storage totals show 672 million gallons in storage, 11.5 feet depth, and a 42 million gallon gain, with total lake storage at 4.773 billion gallons and a 328 million gallon overall gain. The city pumped 14.953 million gallons at the treatment plant last week, with average daily consumption of 3.401 million gallons per meter.
Senator Moss scheduled a Thursday meeting with Upper Basin senators from Utah Colorado New Mexico and Wyoming to press action on the Rainbow Bridge National Monument Lake Powell controversy. Reps Udall and Jolson were invited. A court ruling aimed to keep Lake Powell 100 feet below capacity could force Upper Basin states to limit water deliveries to the Lower Basin and reduce Glen Canyon Dam electricity generation.
Clauser 6 percent pled guilty to defrauding Sedona residents including theft of sedans and forged checks. Judge William E Meyers granted one more week to prepare a detailed account of missing funds and the alleged fraud schemes.
County recorder Mrs Pat Fabritz announced postcard registration forms will be mailed by Friday. Residents removed from the voter rolls may reinstate by returning signed, dated, stamped postcards to the recorder's office by May 1, renewing registrations for those who did not vote in the November elections.
Kickett dinner for the Coconino County Unit of the American Cancer Society Cancer Crusade will be at the Cables Restaurant at 7 p.m. April 5. Crusade opens April 5. Cancer Drive goal $10,000. Last year $0,545 was raised. The 1972 Crusade in Coconino County raised 3,500, the most in the state, with 46 percent above the goal. Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Page, Sedona and Williams are involved. Unit President Tony Gabadon announced district manager Jerry Negilski as Crusade chairman to coordinate the drive in the entire Coconino Unit. This year’s goal is $10,000, up slightly from previous totals.
The Cocunivo County Board postponed action on joining the public safety retirement system at a special morning meeting. Sheriff Joe Richards must assess current year manpower needs, with a likely three week timeline, before a verdict. If too many new deputies are needed, the board may reject the proposal.
Six Northern Arizona University professors named Outstanding Educators of America for 1973 in a national awards program. Recipients include Dr. Richard Davies, director of the Center for Integrated Studies, Dr. Alden Lorents, Dr. Kenneth Runyon, Dr. Sandor Popovics, Dr. Clyde Nelson Holland, and Dr. Charles J. Heston. Nominations come from college and university officials, and the honorees are featured in the awards volume.
The Flage staff Chamber of Commerce first 1973 general membership meeting is set for April 12 at Continental Country Club. Tarry Rice of Allstate Insurance chairs the Membership Program Committee. J. Chris Christianson from Scottsdale will present a program titled Change your Life Baby. Tickets are 3.40 per person, with social hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:15 p.m.

The Flagstaff City Council meets at 7 30 am Tuesday with the downtown building height ordinance as a main item adopted under a new charter procedure. The agenda includes a federal revenue sharing entitlement budget, Creighton Building for Harper Building exchange, zoning changes, planned residential development, liquor licenses, and miscellaneous items.
