Valenti Sentenced to Year in Federal Gun Case

Frank Valenti, 61, long alleged mob figure who moved from Rochester New York to Phoenix, received a one year term in prison for a federal gun law violation. California man arrested for marijuana possession after stop

A 24 year old California man Stephen Craigertel was stopped for an illegal turn on Interstate 40. The Highway Patrol found marijuana leaves and two film canisters with a small amount of the drug. He is jailed in Coconino County awaiting arraignment before the Justice of the Peace.

US sources say a possible extension of the four party Joint Military Commission may be proposed to improve ceasefire prospects. The panel including North Vietnam South Vietnam the Viet Cong and the United States is to dissolve March 28. Enlarged Canyon Bill Is Introduced

In Washington identical bills to expand Grand Canyon National Park are to be introduced by Senator Barry Goldwater and Representative Morris Udall. The measures would add Marble Canyon and most of the Grand Canyon to the park, expand the Havasupai Reservation to 169000 acres and give 41000 acres of the park to the tribe, with protective strips along Marble Canyon and the south shore.
