Dog food plant near I-40 planned for Flagstaff
Flagstaff Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend approval of a Ralston Purina dog food plant as a planned unit development. If approved by the City Council, the plant would sit east of the I-40 eastern interchange on Lonnie Wilkinson land and employ about 285 locals with a $3 million annual payroll. The hearings begin after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Recall Petition Filing Expected on March 26
The United Farm Workers Union plans petitions to recall Gov. Jack Williams and will file on March 26 with about 1,000 supporters aboard. Gerald Pollock, the Phoenix attorney challenging Williams, and UFW leader Cesathavez spoke as Pollock wrapped a statewide campaign. Pollock said roughly 165,000 signatures have been collected, well above the 103,000 needed to trigger a recall election.
