The Flagstaff City Council rejected a $28,000 injury claim filed by Fred McLain, accidentally shot by Patrolman R. Dan Davis during an arrest attempt on Oct. 24, 1970. The council ordered the claim filed with the city's liability insurer.
Navajo Tribal Chairman Peter MacDonald may visit Flagstaff for a luncheon with City Gomell and a breakfast with All Indian Pow Wow Committees. City Manager Leland C. McPherson said details are unconfirmed, pending a suggestion by Councilman Larry Loven and a tentative schedule if the visit occurs.

A Detroit man claiming to be an ordained priest reported a missing shaving bag. police recovered the bag and found marijuana and mescaline. Joseph P. McHale, 29, of Detroit, was jailed on possession charges after admitting ownership of the drugs. Hearings are pending.

Flagstaff police investigated two Tuesday morning burglaries causing about 250 dollars in damage. At Bob's Shamrock Station on South Milton Road, $100 in damage to cigarette and soft drink machines. At Ron's University Enco on West Highway 56, $143 in damage to a plate glass window and a soft drink machine with cash stolen. The cases were referred to the detective division.
