The Navajo Nation plans irrigating 9,920 acres of arid lands in northwest New Mexico as part of a Bicentennial celebration effort. Federal funds totaling 32 million are available to cover on-farm costs, with operations expected to begin in March 1976. When fully active, tribal revenues from the enterprise and related businesses could reach about 159 million annually.
The Northern Arizona Comprehensive Guidance Center relocates to a new home at 6Lt N Leroux, expanding space to serve seven affiliate clinics and five northern counties. Maurice W. Miller, the director, notes the agency as an umbrella for administrative, technical, fiscal and advisory services channeling federal and state funds to clinics offering mental health, alcoholism, drug abuse and family services. The Cocsaite Community Guidance Center at 519 N Leroux is overseen by this agency for financial expenditures and quality of care. Staff include Miller, Lehmberg, Steele, Burns, plus NAU consultants Moore Jr. and Lorents. an open house is planned for March.
WINDOW ROCK The Navajo Area Branch of Roads reports grading and drainage construction on three badly needed roads in the Navajo Reservation. Projects NB from Pueblo Pintado east to Torreon at 22 miles, N89 from Many Farms to Rough Rock at 15 miles, and N18 from US 666 west to Red Rock about 20 miles.
