About 600 men fought today to hold control lines around a forest fire that burned 3 000 acres near Amber and neared within a quarter mile of a northeastern Arizona beach. Whitley Given 12 to 15 Years In State Prison
Whitley, 28, was sentenced by Judge H L Russell in Coconino County Superior Court to concurrent 32 year terms for narcotics violations. He was arrested May 21 in Flagstaff with quantities of marijuana valued around $1,000. Whitley, a native of Austin, had worked as a part time entertainer. He pleaded guilty at arraignment before Judge Issel. Sentencing follows a plea and prior waivers.
