Lipset to Speak at NAU Lecture Series on Radicalism
Prominent sociologist Seymour Martin Lipset will headline Northern Arizona University’s Institute on Radicalism series from Wednesday to Friday. His Wednesday 12:30 p.m. kickoff lecture in Room 231 Biological Science Building is open to the public. Lipset has taught at Columbia and UC Berkeley, and since 1965 has been professor at Harvard. He spent this year as a fellow at Stanford’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. His works blend sociology and history, including The First New Nation and Revolution and Counterrevolution. Lipset is ranked among the top five sociologists alongside Merton, Parsons, Weber and Durkheim.
