Tsosie Rites Saturday In Flagstaff
Funeral services for James Tsosie of Kayenta, found dead at the Pow Wow grounds last Saturday, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the 3rd Branch LDS Church on 402 South Humphreys. Burial will follow at Citizens Cemetery. Tsosie, a Vietnam veteran, held a bronze star, a Combat Infantry Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, and the US Army Commendation Medal. He is survived by his wife Katheyn and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Tsosie, of Kayenta.

Trusties Escape From Arizona Prison Fence Break
Three Phoenix inmates, two lifers for murder, escaped from Florence prison by cutting a steel fence and fleeing in a station wagon. Charles Edward Hurt, 34, was captured near Perkinsville Road an hour after the vehicle was found abandoned a mile outside Jerome. Carl Edward Davis, 38, and Robert Eugene Mileham, 41, both serving lengthy sentences, remained at large with bloodhounds aiding the search.

Last DMZ base turned over as 50 Americans stay for advisory role
AP reports the United States handed over its final DMZ base to South Vietnam today while retaining about 50 American artillerymen and advisers. Around 500 troops from the 1st Brigade, 5th Mechanized Infantry Division, left Fire Base Charlie 2, four miles southeast of the DMZ, after the heaviest single rocket toll of the war at that bunker. 200 U.S. troops exited Alpha 4, with about 100 remaining for artillery and electronic duties. Maj. Gen. Pham Van Phu noted ongoing DMZ base transfers since 1969.
