Northern Arizona warms as Flagstaff sees near 87 degrees with 68 forecast for tomorrow. Lake Mary activity expected to rise with good winds in the afternoon, inviting a pleasant boat ride if conditions hold.

President Ford told the 66th NAACP convention he is confident the economic decline is ending but warned recovery must rest on sound economics to avoid renewed inflation recession and unemployment. Special to The Sun reports County officials in Tuba City for a public hearing on the proposed general plan. Navajo speakers, via interpreter Mrs Benson Hufford, pressed for a policy on the San Francisco Peaks and criticized the county position that no Tuba City area plan could be included. County leaders urged Navajo input, with threats of political reprisal if changes were not made, as the hearing proceeded with County Manager Jack Smith and Planning Director Scott McClellan present.
The City Planning and Zoning Commission scheduled a public hearing for July 16 at City Hall Annex to discuss Murdock Recreation Center and its future. Parks director Ingels announced closure of the program at Murdock on Aug 29 due to poor attendance and operation costs.
