County Planning and Zoning Commissioners approved three zoning changes, with one conditional, and wrapped one preliminary plat while continuing Pinewood 23. A conditional rezoning near Valle ties to road dedication or county standards with Irving Pearlstein of Phoenix. A second change shifts eight acres near Munds Park Interchange to commercial. Pinewood Unit 13 moves from general use to residential with minimum 6000 square foot lots.
Services were held in Sedona for Paul Roberts 60 who died Monday in Flagstaff Community Hospital. Burial followed at Sedona Memorial Park. A native of Texas and retired electrician, he lived in Sedona 23 years and worked 20 years for Verde Valley schools. Survived by wife Dovie one brother D K of Lake Montezuma and two sisters out of state. Memorial donations requested to Wayside Chapel building fund of the Twelve Step House in Flagstaff.
Catherine Verkamp Martin, 51, died January 14 at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe. Funeral Mass held January 17. Survived by husband Tom. children Catherine, Tom Martin Jr., Gregory. mother Catherine Verkamp of Grand Canyon. sisters Peggy Verkamp and Mrs. Max Trister. brother Jack Verkamp. one grandchild.
The Senate Transportation Committee reported a bill to lower the blood alcohol threshold for drunken driving from 15 percent to 10 percent. Sen.
