Ceconine Caverns explore ancient chambers beyond cat cavern

The Ceconine Caverns are estimated at about 2 million years old with a large 18,000 square foot cat cavern and a potential series of unexplored rooms beyond. A 150 foot deep hole near the entrance shows air updrafts when winds align, suggesting an unseen area connected below. Spelunkers study minute prehistoric water animals such as Bryoxomms and brachiopods.

Fliers' Release Boosts JFK Khrush Summit Hopes

President Kennedy announced the release of two imprisoned US airmen Captain John R. Mellone of Topeka Kansas and Captain Freeman B. Olmstead of Washington.
