The Arizona Newspapers Association wrapped its annual Tucson convention with a tour of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. The $31 million complex nears completion and the college will graduate its first class this spring. Dean Merlin Duvall noted low attrition and rising applicant numbers for the class of 1970 and 1972. Bethlehem Steel said it will roll back steel price increases to stay competitive, reversing a rise announced last week.

Pilot survives landing crash at Flagstaff Airport
A light four passenger Cessna, owned by American Aviation Corp of Cleveland, crashed off the south end of Flagstaff Municipal Airport’s main runway around 10 20 am. Pilot Robert MacCutcheon sustained minor injuries including a broken tooth and facial injuries, was treated at Flagstaff Community Hospital and evacuated by ambulance. Fire units police and an ambulance responded, no fire occurred.

Dalegowski was rushed to Flagstaff Hospital after first aid on scene and underwent hours of surgery.
