Bomb scare at Orpheum Theatre proves false report
Patrolman Allen Rollins said a call at 9 04 p m claimed a man in a faded red jacket carried a bomb inside the Flagstaff Orpheum Theatre. Police ordered patrons outside while Sgt Gary Latham Lt E T James and others searched the building. no device was found. Investigation continues.

Man Charged With DWI After Tucson Taxicab Crash
Virgil F. Swanner, 47, of 2014 Shalimar Way Tucson, faces DWI and improper backing charges after a Tuesday night crash involving a taxicab. Patrolman Thomas J. Harbour reported a breathalyzer reading of .224 after Swanner consented to testing and he was released to County Atty. J. Michal Flournoy.

Mott Resigns as Navajo Tribal Counsel
E Mott, long time Navajo general counsel since 1967, submitted his resignation to Chairman Nakai. The resignation becomes effective 190 days from Tuesday, with a contract through August 1, 1974 that can be ended on 90 days notice by either party. His stepping down as counsel does not affect his role as claims attorney for the tribe.
