Flagstaff School Board Monday night decided there will be no permanent building additions to district elementary and junior high schools except Kinsey. Kinsey to stay at ideal size. Coconino High needed future expansion. East Flagstaff Junior High may gain temporary rooms. future third junior high planned. Weitzel and Kinsey acreages to be kept, saving taxpayers thousands. Kinsey may drop to 15 acres. Marshall Cafeteria crowded. actions to ease load include buses from Kinsey and South Beaver to Weitzel or MU Elden cafeterias and added supervisory staff. A Vollrath rep will review operations for a central kitchen and transport system to serve all schools next year.

SU to Issue Deposit Refunds in Flagstaff This Month
Southern Union Gas will refund gas meter deposits to residential and commercial customers in Flagstaff who have at least one year of satisfactory payment history. Refunds total the original deposit plus 6 percent interest from Jan 1, 1970. Interest through 1969 was already credited to pay service bills. Refunds should reach customers in Northern Arizona within about 30 days.

Perkins Gets Prison Term on Two Counts
Herbert J. Perkins a 22 year old resident of 154 Passer Del Flag received 18 to 24 months on each of two counts to run concurrently in the Arizona State Prison Florence after pleading guilty to violation of probation and possession of marijuana in a Dec incident. Deputies found three marijuana cigarettes in a cigarette pack as he was admitted to jail. The court and county attorney discussed probation and work release but Perkins received a combined sentence of 18 months to three years.

Massachusetts Man 26 Found Dead in Downtown Hotel
Daniel Hunt, 26, of Everett Massachusetts, is identified as the apparent victim of self inflicted death. Police say Hunt checked into the Commercial Hotel after 4 30 am Saturday and died from a slashed artery in his right arm. Blood stains marked the room and two self written messages were found on the walls. A coroner's jury was convened and a post mortem scheduled.

Police say two Sacaton officers escaped unharmed after being attacked and fired upon by two men in a stalled car during a late Monday roadside stop. A week earlier Phoenix police had two officers die from gunfire in separate incidents involving a moving pickup and a traffic crash en route to the scene.
