New Year Accidents Kill Four In Arizona
Four people died in New Year day traffic crashes in Arizona. A Phoenix couple Joe DeeHalle 29 and Bonnie 25 were killed when struck broadside at a south Phoenix intersection. Wilbur Dean Noakes 47 of Tucson died when his car ran off US 89 60 miles north of Tucson. Highway Patrol investigated another fatal crash on US 60 east of Apache Junction. In Phoenix, Arizona Tax Commission reported 1970 state income tax up 33 percent to 101.5 million from 76.4 million and sales tax up 15 percent to 184.2 million from 159.7 million.
