The long running class action over the Tuskegee syphilis study appears near settlement. About 40 Macon County men survived from the 600 involved. Plaintiffs sought 3 million in damages while the original $1.8 billion demand was trimmed as talks with Tuskegee attorney Fred Gray proceed.
