Troy French Dies at 62 Rites Set

Troy French, 62, of Flags taff died at his home on Old Highway 65 Wednesday morning from a heart attack. Funeral services will be 2 p m in Ganley and Sons Chapel with Rev. Robert W. Warren officiating and burial in the Jural Citizens Cemetery. Born March 13, 1898 in Odin, Illinois, he lived in Flagstaff the last five years after managing the Trading Post Cafe at Winona and retiring two years ago.

20 Children Die as Train Hits School Bus

A school bus was struck by a train at a crossing, killing 20 children and injuring others. Bystanders including parents rushed to the scene, with witnesses recalling the bus slowing then accelerating into the crossing. A Union Pacific official in Omaha noted the bus slowed to about 5 mph before the collision.
