Flagstaff Library Remodel Nears Completion For New Main Branch
Flagstaff plans to open its new main public library in 1972 after remodeling Union Hall across from Nativity Catholic Church. City manager Leland C. McPherson told the City Council the project is about one quarter finished, with a $28,000 bill approved for work on the $91,916 remodeling of the building bought from Laborers Union Legal for just over $100,000. The 1923 Elks Lodge structure on Aspen Avenue will replace the closed main branch, which shut April 21, 1976, following engineering reports of a weakened roof.
