Lance Violated Loan Agreement
Washington AP Bert Lance pledged stock dividends as collateral for a 2 625 000 loan from Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co then used the same stock dividends as collateral for a second loan. Gas Rationing Plan Drafted by Federal Agency
The Los Angeles Times reports the Federal Energy Administration is drawing up an emergency gas rationing plan with Price Waterhouse & Co. to operate at 30,000 post offices. The plan would take effect 15 days after a major supply interruption such as an Arab oil embargo under a 1975 law.

Mt Elden fire may signal more as population grows
A U S forest service official told a Mt Elden Kiwanis breakfast crowd that the area could see additional fires due to rising population and more people in the foothills. Regis Cassidy warned future blazes will likely be brush fires and discussed reforestation plans costing about 200 dollars per acre for 2 500 acres while noting a long recovery ahead. He cited reseeding efforts already begun with 90 000 dollars spent on grass reseeding and ongoing plans to plant firs and pines at different elevations. The Kiwanis club also elected a new board for three terms. In separate news Humphrey, recovering from cancer surgery, has begun eating soft foods.

A seven year Air Force veteran has been assigned recruiting duties in Flagstaff. S Sgt Leland E Levy opens an office at 2308 4th St and covers Northern Arizona including Page Teec Nos Pos Window Rock Holbrook and surrounding areas. He works Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and offers evening appointments. Levy is a recent graduate of the Air Force Recruiting School Lackland AFB. He previously served at Luke AFB Keesler AFB and a tour in Nakon Phanom Royal Thai AFB Thailand. He is married to Annette Harper a Northern Arizona University graduate.

Jury Told To Report Saturday In Bolles Murder Case
