Page Youth Dies After Jump Across Antelope Canyon
A 19-year-old Page man Thomas Norris fell about 100 feet while attempting to jump a trevice in Antelope Canyon. He was hiking with two female companions when the attempt ended fatally. Authorities identified Norris in Page, as the incident was reported to the Coconino County sheriff's deputies. The two women are not named in the report.

Death not ruled foul play in Mesa woman's gunshot death
Sheriff investigators say the 28 year old Priscilla E Church was found shot in a Sherwood Forest Estates cabin west of Williams. They cannot determine if the wound was intentional or accidental. An autopsy is pending after the body was taken to Flagstaff.

California Man Convicted of Murder in Phoenix
A California man, Donnie Lyle Davis, 34, was convicted of second degree murder and robbery for the 1976 shooting death of Phoenix cab driver Roger Lorenz, three weeks after Lorenz was found on the Salt River Indian Reservation. Davis and James Ferguson, 22, were implicated. Ferguson had previous first degree murder conviction and life sentence. Davis faces sentencing August 28 before Maricopa County Superior Court Judge A. Melvin McDonald.

Crime spree hits Flagstaff area with multiple thefts and a death
Police report several incidents in Flagstaff including a Jeep theft at a motel parking lot near Butler Avenue where $1800 in communications gear and a camera were taken from Gene J. Redman of Phoenix. A water tap probe on Harris Way drew notes of potential clearance by a contractor. East Flagstaff man Frank J. Krauzyk, 69, died after a heart attack in a department store. Edward T. O Rourke, 40, was arrested for auto theft at Santa Fe and Grand Canyon Aves. About 50 sheets of sheet rock were stolen from a Cheshire Estates site.
