Remodeled Bank Plans Open House in Flagstaff
The downtown Flagstaff First National Bank of Arizona office invites the public to a day long open house in its new building at 2 Fast Birch on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The renovated branch doubles to 9,860 square feet and now houses 42 bankers, 13 teller stations, and two drive in windows. Visitors may register for prizes including a color TV and $200 savings accounts. The bank, founded December 15, 1932, operates 106 offices statewide with deposits over $1.4 billion.

Arizona House OKs tax board funding for notices
The Arizona House approved a Senate bill to fund the State Board of Property Tax Appeals with 122000 to notify four homeowners when valuations rise, but Democrats opposed the measure on the floor and stripped its emergency clause. The vote was 28 to 20, two votes short of the two thirds needed for emergency status. Rep Polly Gettwiller supported it, while Rep Burton Barr lamented the party split. The session also advanced a constitutional amendment for county home rule, stripped tax levy provisions, and approved airport security funding for skyjacking guards.
