Ottawa reports Prime Minister Pearson will likely meet with President Kennedy to smooth differences in Canadian American policy after Pearson’s split from predecessor Diefenbaker. The talks aim to ease tensions and set a path for cooperation in the coming weeks.
Vandenberg Air Force Base Calif AP reports the Air Force launched a Minuteman intercontinental missile in the fifth reliability test of a series conducted down the Pacific Missile Range.

Drivers Joe Huerta 37 Jerry W Kaufman 36 William P Chal mer 23 and Ronald Ehlers 18 all from Tucson were injured. Cause under investigation.
Phoenix special reports Paul Sweitzer, Northern Arizona native and Arizona Daily Sun staffer, named to the Arizona Association for Mental Health board of directors. He joins Mrs. Malcolm Torger son, Mrs. Douglas Rigby, and Cecil Lockart-Smith of Sedona as board members. Rigby received a commendation, Lockhart-Smith was elected one of three vice presidents, and Verde Valley Mental Health leader Doyce Crayford received a commendation for volunteering in mental health efforts.
A talk by Icelandic volcanologist Dr. Sigurdur Vhorarinsson scheduled for this evening at Arizona Star College has been postponed. The event is likely to be rescheduled for Thursday evening with the time and place to be announced in Thursday's SUN.

Brown blamed Rockefeller’s woes on a license scandal and taxes while predicting Nixon will play an important national role.
The Flagstaff Chamber will host 47 visitors from Cortez Colorado on an Intervily public relations trip. Mack Forrester says the group arrives at 4 p m with a social ball and dinner at 5 30 p m at the Arizona Snow Bowl. Members include Ted Allen mayor of Carter and Mrs Allen Tommy Johnson editor of the Montezuma Valley Journal and Cortez Telo station owners Jarl Hawkins and Mrs Hawkins Clayton Melby Cortez Chamber president and Mrs Melby. After an overnight in the Northland the party proceeds toward southern Arizona.
Over 50 youngsters have registered for a safety cycling rally in Fredonia set for 2 30 p m at Fredonia School. A quiz, a handicapped course, and prizes from 5 to 3 dollars plus a trophy funded by Tyan Goodall and others accompany town project sponsors and organizers.

The Verdi Requiem features four soloists in a major choral presentation by the Symphonic Choir now at 150 voices under Millard Kinney. Judge Raul Castro suspended the commitments of three juveniles aged 14 to 17 to the State Industrial School at Ft. Grant for one month after a weekend beer party. The youths must attend school daily, avoid tardiness, raise grades, improve behavior, and obey all laws during the probation period, with a review at month’s end.

Manuel Rivera Sr., 68, died at home. Rosary Friday night at Flagstaff Mortuary Chapel. Requiem Mass Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church officiated by Rev. James Lindenmeyer. Burial in Catholic Calvary Cemetery. Born in New Mexico, he moved to Flagstaff 16 years ago. Survivors include daughters Corinne Percy of Vaughn New Mexico and Alice Michelfelder of Coatsville Pennsylvania, son Manuel Jr. of Paramount California, four brothers and 12 grandchildren.
Raymond I. Hudgens was found guilty by a Mohave County Superior Court jury of three counts of murder and sentenced to death. Judge Frank Gordon set May 27 for formal sentencing. The defendant, aged year, shot Klawitz Gruen and her parents Myron and Yount at the Young home near Kingman. Hudgens, who pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, testified the shootings followed an unsuccessful reconciliation attempt with his wife.
A new restaurant named Painted Desert Oasis opened at Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona this week. Superintendent Charles Humberger announced the facility seats more than 100, includes a curio shop, and is owned by the Fred Harvey Company. Designed by Neutra Alexander of Los Angeles, the half million dollar restaurant will operate year round for visitors.
New York AP reports the stock market moved to new high ground for 1964 with active trading and gains in nonferrous metals rails and several motors. Volume reached 2.72 million shares in the first hours as some issues rose while many held steady or fell slightly. Dividend increases and first quarter earnings boosts supported traders. The AP average rose to 270.8, surpassing the Nov 20 1962 peak as the Dow and S&P neared all-time highs.
