A Council of Governments funded nutrition study to identify dietary patterns and nutritional deficiencies among Indian residents. The project calls for NACA to run in-house workshops on dietary control and improvement, sanitation and hygiene under SUNfoto.
The Coconino County Board of Supervisors will hear a Mon petition from Kachina Village residents seeking a volunteer fire district for their rural subdivision. If approved, an election may be called and residents within the district would vote on the tax to support it, up to 1.2% of assessed value. The meeting also covers planning appeals, fleet bids, a water franchise hearing, liquor license transfers, and tax equalization matters.

A nine foot 250 pound frozen bull elephant seal was seized from English zoologists near Dunfermline. Police revealed it was an April Fool's Day hoax and the animal was a young seal far from its normal home.
Easter pilgrims packed the Church of the Holy Sepulchre at dawn as Patriarch James Joseph Bertrittl led the sunrise blessing of the new fire. An early morning head-on crash on US 93 about 30 miles north of Kingman killed Brigham Young University student Kenneth Farner, 22, of Medford Oregon, Dinesh Ratanshi Shah, 27, of Malaysia, and Nancy C. Kieffer, 22, of San Diego. Vijayan Warrior, also from Malaysia, who had transferred to Arizona State University, was hospitalized in critical condition.
