Pilot error blamed in deadly Turkey crash
A Turkish Airlines flight from Milan via Rome and Istanbul to Antalya crashed into Karatepe mountain near Isparta, killing 155 aboard. Officials say the pilot believed he was at 12000 feet, not the 13000 he sought, and was about to land within a minute though over 10 minutes from destination. The wreckage lay on the slope with a black box recovered as investigators work, and victims included eight Turkish crew, many Italians, plus German and Dutch passengers.
