Hospital seeks expansion to serve 210000 population
Officials warn current facilities cannot meet demand as ongoing admissions fill wards. Medical surgical units exceed critical capacity many days yearly, with beds routinely full and corridors used for patients. A 20 percent empty bed margin is kept to absorb unexpected illnesses and late night maternity cases.
