Induction plan set for 10,000 men under draft changes
Selective Service Director Curtis W. Tarr announced that 10,000 men are to be inducted in the October December window, with 125 or lower random selection numbers receiving notices this year. Some 19,000 with numbers 125 and below exceed the quota, so many will be drafted in early 1972. Local boards will execute the plan, with 10,000 in Oct-Dec and 3,500 in Nov 2-Dec 9, marking the first dafts since the old law expired.
