Assembly votes along party lines on veto override

Steel price hikes approved to meet higher labor costs
Washington reports the Price Commission approved more than 7 percent price increases for tin plated steel by Bethlehem and National Steel to offset higher labor costs under wage price controls. The moves aim to cover costs from the recent miners pay rise while limiting impact on manufacturers' profits. Bethlehem and National Steel cited wage settlements and production costs, with burns on other sectors noted as the Commission considers rents and private housing effects during Nixon era controls.
