Bridge painting plan improves maintenance across Bay bridges
A new zinc vinyl paint system adopted since 1967 extends bridge coatings life. The plan reduces repaint cycles on the Bay Bridge and others to about 15 25 years with selective refurbishments. Experimental hydroblast reduces dust while blasting on the Carquinez Bridge.
