Leslie to sell Bay Area salt ponds holdings
Reactions to Leslie's plan to sell most Bay Area salt ponds to Mobil Estates surface as talks surface over an area spanning Fremont, Newark, and Redwood City. The deal would pay 2 million dollars per acre plus a 2 percent profit cut, with a $3.5 million cash payment to Leslie for nonproducing lands. Public officials urge balanced development while preserving tax income and open space.
