Old Smokey Bear Dies After Long Life of Service

The original Smokey Bear died of old age at the National Zoo after a long retirement. The 26 year old bear, renamed Old Smokey, slowed in his final years and died in his sleep. A Forest Service spokeswoman called it a long life for his species. His 29 pound body was flown to New Mexico for a ceremony at Smokey Bear Historical State Park near Capitan NM.

Hearst moved for security during prison transfer

No change in evader policy toward Vietnam
