Union City sees second gang violence attack this week
A man was stabbed in Union City amid a suspected gang power struggle in the Red district. The prior day a 21 year old man, Michael Bata, was shot from a passing car. Bautista, 25, was stabbed on Eleventh Street as a green Pontiac with two men fled. Bautista underwent surgery at Washington Hospital in Fremont, condition unknown. Police tie the earlier attack to the Nuestra Familia Mexican prison gang, which allegedly seeks control of drug and prostitution routes in South Hay and San Joaquin. seven gang members were arraigned in Hayward on weapons charges.
