Holiday Bazaar and rummage sale filled with crafts and community groups
Four local women's groups present the Sixth Annual Holiday Bazaar and Bowlique at Newark Community Center from 1 to 8 p.m. Coordinated by Dorothy Chu, the event features hand crafted Christmas items, a handpainted Newark Juniors ceramic tree ornament, a prize rug wall hanging by Jane Bagley, and refreshments under Charlotte Kampeik. Proceeds support local philanthropic programs. St Leonard's Parish hosts its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to noon at the Fremont location, with donations via Lynda Finkes. Southbay Engineers Club meets at Villa del Greca in Fremont at 12:15 p.m. to hear Wes Gordon of UC Berkeley discuss Alameda County fossils. He has 17 years fossil-hunting experience and authored work on the Irvington fossil site. YWCA Christmas boutique runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Lorenzo center with handmade gifts, ornaments, baked goods, and plants.

Betty Carter and Jensen Gibson, a San Diego cookbook author, shared a luncheon at Fremont Newar Philharmonic Society where Gibson prepared crab quiche and salads.
