The Robert B De Mello Auxiliary No 2486 installed a full slate for 1971 72 in the Niles Veterans Memorial Building. Ethel Morris led as president with Florence Krone Kathleen Klapperich and others sworn in by Helen Osberg and Alameda County Council. A life membership was awarded to outgoing president Mrs Frank T DeMello.
