Kennedy High’s visiting nine, led by ace Dennis DeBarr, defeated Newark 4 to 0 to claim the Mission Valley Athletic League baseball crown. DeBarr fired a three hit shutout with 15 strikeouts as Kennedy built a 4 run lead, aided by Newark errors, despite shortstop George Guerra breaking his ankle in the sixth.
