Eight girls vie for Maid of Newark title at pageant
Eight contestants ages 17 to 18 compete Saturday at Newark High School auditorium for Maid of Newark. Judges include William Winslow Kay Nelson and Greg Winstead. The winner will represent Newark at Alameda County Fair in July. Bea Watson chairs the event run by Newark Chamber of Commerce new women’s division. Tickets cost 150 for adults and 75 cents for children.
