Citizens Utilities did not respond to requests for comment. Residents and the group People for Better Water hailed the move as a win and pressed for possible public-water district transfer.

State Transportation Secretary Donald wheels back support amid concerns over Bay traffic, Beale Street and University connections. Michael Evarioe met West Bay officials to press for changes reducing lane counts and rerouting freeway connections.

Fremont Washington Hospital directors announced last night they would not tolerate chiropractors. They cited hospital contracts for x ray services and radiologists’ ownership of the images. Board Chairman Bruce Bell said action could proceed if individual or sale conditions arise. The board praised local physicians who pay higher malpractice premiums rather than leaving practice.
