Fremont council drops plan to rebid the CATV franchise amid state and federal intervention talk. The council favors Fremont Cable Television but faces opposition from Muscum and others seeking fair bids, while consultants assess the best path forward.
The Internal Revenue Service moves its Hayward area office to 2415 Serpian Blvd. The Hayward branch is on the second floor with front desk service and weekday hours from 9 a.m. to 4 30 p.m. The new telephone unit is established.
Bowman S. Hall 62 died Monday in Washington Hospital Fremont. Services will be at Centerville Presbyterian Church Fremont at 2 p.m. tomorrow with burial in Chapel of the Pines Cemetery. He leaves wife Pauline Hall and had been a Ohio native, longtime California resident. Burial at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
