Fremont considers local improvement district to fund street upgrades
Fremont officials weigh creating a continuing local cement district to help developers finance required street improvements. The plan would allow bonds to cover work completed before sale, with repayment secured by the property tax lien, aiding Dr Franco Beretta and others facing financing hurdles for curb, gutter, sidewalks, lighting, drainage, and pavement along multiple frontage lengths. The council split on applying LID to commercial projects, with debate continuing.
